PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists make a positive contribution to, among other things, healthy exercise, reducing absenteeism and preventing injuries. In this way, your physical therapist helps you to keep your body functioning as well as possible. Your body deserves the best treatment.

What is the physiotherapist for?

An average of 3 million people, young and old, visit a physiotherapist every year. They seek treatment for complaints related to posture issues or movement-related problems. These complaints may stem from sports injuries, work-related issues, accidents, illnesses, incorrect movements, or aging. The physiotherapist provides advice, treatment, and guidance to help individuals resume their daily activities. By exercising responsibly, individuals can prevent or minimize future problems. The human body, comprised of muscles, bones, and joints, is essential for everyday activities like walking, standing, jumping, and bending. Movement may seem effortless until issues arise, hindering the body's functionality. The physiotherapist, a movement specialist, is equipped to address and treat these concerns, as well as to offer preventive care to avoid worsening conditions. (Source: KNGF)

Medical Taping

Medical Taping has been utilized in the Netherlands for several years, though it originated in Asia in the 1970s. Unlike traditional taping methods that use non-stretch tape, Medical Taping employs elastic tape that supports rather than restricts joint movement, enhancing functionality.

The mantra of Medical Taping is to encourage movement without limitation. It aids the muscular system, fostering an environment conducive to optimal body recovery and promoting the natural healing process.

Medical Taping should not be viewed as an isolated treatment but rather as an adjunct to overall therapy. Its applications are extensive, ranging from the (post) treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, including back and shoulder pain, to issues with the calf, knee, and ankle. It is also used for reducing swelling (edema) and inflammation, correcting posture, addressing overuse injuries like tennis and golf elbow, and alleviating tension headaches.
